My Dad

This is my Dad. He passed away on Sept 4, 2006. I miss him a lot. This is one of my favorite pictures of him. That's Nathan, his great-grandson - he was only 7 days old! He loved little kids and they loved him back.

About Me

Hello! I live in the far-NW 'burbs of Chicago, but not for long! I will be moving closer to my family within the next year (if I can sell my house anyway!). It means a lot of changes - including changing jobs after 18 years at the same place. Really scary!!! My family & friends mean the world to me, as do my 3 furbabies that I've had for ever. The oldest turned 16 this past spring and the 2 younger are now 14. Wow - where does the time go? Anywho....I'm pretty easy going, do my best to live the way I was raised, and try not to get into trouble. Boring - you may think? Not at all - I love my life!

My Collections

I collect cross stitching stash! Lots of it....I can never get enough! I have enough to stitch for at least 3 lifetimes and I still buy more. That's the point, right? She who dies with the most stash wins?

I also collect old books - geography, social studies, history, & literature textbooks are my favorites. I'm a stamp collector - not for the value but for the history. And if you ask anyone who knows me well, I also collect movies. I don't consider it a collection - once you pass 1000, I think it's considered a library!

My Hobbies

I guess the world considers cross-stitching to be a hobby - I consider it a life-style. I try to stitch some every day. It relaxes me and I LOVE it! I also really enjoy Civil War Reenacting. I'm a big history fan - you know, one of those geeks who liked history in school? I learn something new every time I'm at an event.
